What a fingerprint establishes

That the file you hashed is byte-identical to another file with the same fingerprint.
That a later change to those bytes would be detectable by anyone holding the fingerprint.
Nothing about where the file came from, who made it, or whether its contents are true.

What it does not establish

Truth, correctness or safety of the file's contents.
That anything was executed, run or observed.
Authorship, authenticity or independent witness status.
That the fingerprint is an estate record. It is local to your machine.
